With over 30 years in the quilting industry, Courtenay’s passion for fabric and thread began in a Denver quilt shop, where she was mentored by a talented group of colleagues—setting the stage for a lifelong obsession! 🧵
Known to many as “Jenny’s Elf” at Missouri Star Quilt Company, Courtenay has filmed numerous tutorials and taught quilting to hundreds of students. She’s also a founding member of the Missouri Quilt Museum and currently serves on its Board of Directors. Her proudest quilting achievement? Piecing together the Missouri Bicentennial Quilt, now proudly displayed at the Missouri Quilt Museum.
As the Sewing Team Manager at Missouri Star Quilt Company, Courtenay leads a talented team that creates projects for Block magazine, kit samples, and special talent requests. She’s all about inspiring creativity, and her favorite part of teaching is seeing that ‘aha!’ moment when students realize they can create something beautiful.
When she’s not stitching up a storm, Courtenay enjoys spending time with her husband Bob, their furry companions, and indulging in a little chocolate. Her motto: Life’s too short not to laugh and quilt!
