Each day's excursion was well-planned with Jim West leading the way along with local tour guides in some locations. We were also given plenty of free time each day to explore on our own, have a meal and shop. For those of us finding the terrain in some areas difficult to navigate, Jim arranged for a taxi to get us from point A to point B. The extra bonus was having John Lloyd Young on the tour and Jim West as our tour manager. The highlight of the trip was our visit to the local family-owned farmhouse where we had a fun pasta-making class and a wonderful dinner and memorable performance by John Lloyd Young. Throughout the week, the hotel staff and bus driver were top notch.

John Lloyd Young was the cherry on top. I've seen him in concert many times and talked to him after a show. But to be with him in Italy was a whole new experience.

Amy Penk , Dearborn Heights, MI - Everything about this trip was amazing. Our tour guide Jim West was fantastic. With him in the lead we explored and experienced the best of Tuscany. From learning about paper marbling and then creating our own masterpiece to making sure we had the best local guides, we learned about the history of this great region. Jim also provided recommendations for the best local cuisine, what to see and do, and where to buy your wine and olive oil at the best price. This was a trip of a lifetime. John Lloyd Young was the cherry on top. I've seen him in concert many times and talked to him after a show. But to be with him in Italy was a whole new experience.

Being able to see a sculptor in his studio with the live model and the many steps and processes before the statue becomes reality gave greater respect and insight to the work of the old masters. But it was so enjoyable to be able to DO a fresco. To do the leather cover, to squish the clay into decorative shapes was wonderful. Even seeing the unique results of the paper marbling made us realize these were things we could do at home. Most to us show you only a brief glance at historic monuments. This one took you back to the beginning and behind the scenes. Since the group was small we got to know all the individuals very well."
