Hafnarfjordur Hafnarfjörður play movie
Hafnarfjörður's name simply means 'harbour fjord' and refers to the excellent natural harbour, which has Iceland's longest history of continuous port trade - since the 1300s.

Hafnarfjörður is Iceland's third-largest town, with just over 26,000 residents. And yet that number is open to debate, since legend has it that some of Iceland's elves and hidden people live in Hafnarfjörður's lava cliffs and rocks, in peaceful coexistence with the town's human residents. In fact, it is possible to tour the elf lands, and those with second sight may even be lucky enough to spot one or two! Naturally the town also offers plenty of more conventional outdoor activities, from golf and swimming to horse riding. Museums and galleries turn the spotlight on history, music and visual arts.
Heidmork Heiðmörk
Heiðmörk was proclaimed a municipal conservation area of Reykjavík in 1950. It is about 6 miles (9.7 km) from the city of Reykjavík. Its name is derived from its namesake in Norway, Hedmark (Icelandic: Heiðmörk), an area with deep forests.

The total area of the conservation area is 3,200 hectares (7,900 acres). It is a popular recreational area in Iceland. Heiðmörk is where Reykjavík's water reservoirs and drinking water wells are located.
Golden Circle Golden Circle play movie
The Golden Circle is a popular tourist route in South Iceland, covering about 300 km looping from Reykjavík into central Iceland and back.

The primary stops on the route are the waterfall Gullfoss (meaning "golden falls"), and the geothermally active valley of Haukadalur, which contains the geyser Strokkur, which erupts at a 5-10 minutes interval. Other stops include Hveragerði greenhouse village, and a local horse stable.
Bontanic Garden Reykjavík Bontanic Garden play movie
The gardens main role is to conserve plants for education, research and delight. It conserves some 5000 plant species in eight plant collections. The collections give an idea of the enormous diversity of vegetation in the northern temperate zone. The Botanic garden is a peaceful place with a beautiful arboretum, ponds and birdlife.

In December, Christmas lights and decorations set the mood for a festive advent, ice-skate around a decorated Christmas tree on the skating rink, walk around the Botanic Garden, visit Ásmundarsafn, and stop by Café Flora for hot chocolate and roasted almonds, browse the Christmas gift shop and go for a nice swim in Laugardalslaug.

Blue Lagoon Reykjanes & Blue Lagoon play movie
The Reykjanes peninsula has several high-temperature geothermal areas, three of which have been harnessed to generate electricity. Nowhere on earth is the junction in the earth's crust between the European and American tectonic plates as clearly visible as on the Reykjanes peninsula. The area is a veritable hotbed for recreational activities. The dramatic, rugged landscape features volcanic craters, caves, lava fields, geothermal waters and hot springs, in addition to a variety of restaurants, museums, churches, lighthouses and festivals.

Blue Lagoon
The geothermal water has a unique composition, featuring three active ingredients - Silica, Algae & Minerals.

The blue colour comes from the silica and the way it reflects sunlight. The geothermal water originates 2,000 metres below the surface, where freshwater and seawater combine at extreme temperatures. On its way to the surface, the water picks up silica and minerals, before emerging at a soothing 38°C (100°F). Perfect for a relaxing and re-energising bathe.
(Cost of this optional tour is just $81 per person)

Katherine Madewell, Bixby, OK- "I wanted to take the time to tell you how much I enjoyed the trip to England. We did really luck out on the weather and I was thrilled to see the wonderful things I experienced. My main regret is that it could not have been twice as long, but then no matter how long you are at a great vacation spot, it is never long enough to see everything you want to see. The best thing is that I no longer feel intimidated at the thought of traveling in most other countries, and that is because of having the chance to explore on my own and being able to travel the subway to get back to the hotel.

The accommodations you provided were first rate and were in great locations. The rooms were beautiful and the areas felt safe. I also believe my husband would have a great time on one of your trips. We will definitely be checking it out. Mostly I understand you and your staff spent a lot of time planning and executing such great plans for a wonderful vacation for us all and I wanted to tell you I really appreciate it. I am looking forward another trip in the future."
Avis LaFayette, Valrico, FL - "A trip to England has been one of my bucket list wishes and this trip lived up to my high expectations. As always, Sew Many Places had a wonderful schedule planned and the best places to stay. Really enjoyed the time in Bath, England."

My least favorite place was Bath, only because I'm not much of a shopper. On vacation, I'm more into shopping like at Burton on the Water. Absolutely loved Stratford-Upon-Avon!"
Mary Harrell, Milton, Georgia - "At first I was a little nervous about going on the trip as a single, but I quickly made 24 new friends. The trip was wonderful. It was the perfect mix of crafting, sightseeing and comraderie."
